Underage arrested in Mijas (Malaga) for slot machines robbery
A Bulgarian under-eighteen youngster was arrested by the Civil Guard of Malaga after having been accused of robbing slot machines in bars with the help of a simple screwdriver. This technique is known as “the fishing line”.
However, this detained minor is not an isolated case. This incident has clearly shown a national issue: the presence of foreign organized gangs, from Eastern Europe in this case, in Spanish territory.
These Eastern European gangs recruit youngsters from their own countries and teach them techniques for discrete slot machines robbery. These minors get into a crowded bar to make sure the owner is distracted and, with a screwdriver, silently make a hole in the slot machine. They introduce a wire through that hole, therefore leaving the prizes’ notch open.
This kind of robbery, like the one that occurred in Malaga, had already been accused in Madrid. The mafia men from Eastern Europe use youngsters because they know about the leniency of Spanish Law towards them.
